1- First, you need to have necessary equipment to design envelope at home. Things you need include a sample envelope, decorative paper, scissors, glue, ruler and pencil.
2- Take an old envelope that will serve as a template, or you can also download an envelope template from the internet to have an idea about the design and folds of the envelope.
3- Take measurement of greeting card you have made or you can follow size of template.
4- If you are using an old envelope, gently tear off the seams of the envelope and open its folds carefully.
5- Place the unfolded envelope on plain paper and work with the help of a ruler and a pencil to trace outlines.
6- Now cut the paper from the outline. You can cut several envelopes with the same outline.
7- Draw fold lines on the cut down envelope with the help of sample envelope. Make sure to create a fold line at the top, bottom and both sides.
8- First, fold the bottom edge and apply sticking material like glue on it and crease the bottom and side edges along the fold line. These lines should be perfectly straight.
9- Let the envelope dry and don’t fold the top till it gets completely dry.
10- Now you can put card inside the envelope.
11- At the end, fold the top of the envelope over the card.
12- Now seal the top edge using glue or any decorative material.
13- Write down the name and your wishes for the recipient.
14- You can use any decorative paper to make envelope or design paper using computer programs which you used to make greeting card.
